She Swims… – Ian Maxtone

Did I see you swimming
Dancing through the surf
Feeling the warmth of the sun
amid the cool of the waves

Did I see you diving
plunging the deepest blue
your iridescent skin
reflecting crystalline hues

Did I see you break the surface
to pay the morn its due
Did you see me crying
frozen, in awe of you

Did I really see you
Could you have noticed me
my secret sea-bound selkie,
are you just fantasy?

About aloudqmu

Aloud is a monthly poetry and spoken word open mic night, and literary magazine. We are based in Glasgow University's Queen Margaret Union, Glasgow, Scotland, UK. Here we wish to publish performance videos from our open mic nights, event updates, and the writing featured in our monthly Aloud Magazine, and some of the writing that didn't quite make the final cut.
