Aloud #10 – ‘Words That Changed My Life’

After a stonkin’ 1st birthday party, we at Aloud got together with Glasgow University’s Book Club and decided y’all need even more sweet spoken word goodness to fill yer bellies!

Aloud #10 will take the form of our regular open-mic nights: free and open to all; five minute slots available to sign up for on the night; the sign-up sheet remains open all night. However, this month, Aloud is themed! The theme is “words that changed my life”.

The night will be split in two, with performers invited to sign-up for regular open-mic slots, or themed slots (or both – yous are clever fuckers, i know y’all can write themed stuff in addition to yer usual lovely words). Interpret the theme as you will, just come along and read!

Aloud #10 will take place in Jim’s Bar of Glasgow Uni’s QMU, from 7pm-10pm. See our Facebook page for more details.

There will be free copies of both Issue 01 and Issue 02 of Aloud Magazine for you to pick up on the night, and as always, regular intervals for you to grab drinks, smokes, whatevs.

Come down and read something, Aloud always strives to create a relaxed atmosphere for performers, be they trying out new stuff or performing tried and tested golden-oldies.

Lots of love,
Aloud and the GU Book Club.

About aloudqmu

Aloud is a monthly poetry and spoken word open mic night, and literary magazine. We are based in Glasgow University's Queen Margaret Union, Glasgow, Scotland, UK. Here we wish to publish performance videos from our open mic nights, event updates, and the writing featured in our monthly Aloud Magazine, and some of the writing that didn't quite make the final cut.
